Annika Sorenstam plays professional golf in Sweden. She is among the top women golfers. Before retiring from professional golf at the age of 28, she had won more than 90 events internationally while an amateur. She was the woman golfer with most victories. The family opted to relocate to Sweden for the purpose of continuing this profession because she was also an excellent skier. She became the first woman to ever win an ALPG Australia tour and qualify to play in qualifying for the LPGA championship in 1994. She was voted LPGA rookie for the year following her finish third in the rankings. Annika was the winner of the first LPGA Tour event in the year 1995, she won the US Women Open. Annika was the first woman outside of America to take home the Vare trophy. Annika was also ranked as top of the Money list. Annika decided not to play in the 2008 season. The first pitch was thrown by her later that night. The winner was his previous tour with his final event, the Suzhou Taihu woman's open. This event was sponsored jointly by the Ladies European Tour & Ladies Asian Tour.
