Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American Entrepreneur for more than twenty years. The current president is and the controlling owner for the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss is an California native who grew in a wealthy family. Her father Jerry Buss was a real-estate businessman who became manager of the Lakers and other sports businesses. When her parents split in 1972 and she started to feel emotionally abandoned. She joined her family's business at the age of 19 as general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. In the following years, she created the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. Before becoming vice president for the Lakers, she served as president of Great Western Forum. Buss her father passed away in 2013 which is when the Lakers were acquired by Buss and her five siblings through a trust. Each of the siblings had equally many votes.
